HOKKA have released new single “Vampire” on September 9, bringing together Lost Society’s Samy Elbanna and The 69 Eyes drummer Jussi 69 for a collaboration spanning two generations of Finnish rock and metal. The song arrives alongside an official music video.
Elbanna contributes vocals as well as guitar riffs and solos, while Jussi 69 handles drums. Rather than treating the two musicians as peripheral guests, “Vampire” builds much of its identity around their contributions, combining a prominent central riff, a large chorus and a modern rock production.
For Joel Hokka, the song also carries a personal dimension. He described working with the musicians involved as a privilege following what he has experienced in recent years and called “Vampire” a “100% pure rock’n’roll joyride,” adding that he hopes it becomes part of the soundtrack to Halloween 2026.
The collaboration also reconnects two musicians with an existing history. Jussi 69 and Samy Elbanna previously played together in The Local Band, the project Jussi founded alongside the late Alexi Laiho. The 69 Eyes drummer praised Elbanna’s development as a guitarist and the distinct character he brought to the track.
“Vampire” follows HOKKA’s debut album, Via Miseria IV, released on April 24, 2026. The band will now head into its first extensive Finnish tour, sharing the bill with Lost Society and St. Aurora across September and October. The run begins in Billnäs on September 18 before visiting Tampere, Oulu, Jyväskylä, Kuopio, Joensuu, Lahti, Savonlinna, Turku and Helsinki.
HOKKA and Lost Society will extend that partnership into 2027 with a co-headline European and U.K. tour. Confirmed February dates include Hamburg, Dordrecht, London, Cologne, Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna and Berlin.
