Disney+ and Hulu are expanding their presence in live music with the announcement that they will livestream three of the biggest music festivals in the United States: Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, Lollapalooza Chicago and Austin City Limits Music Festival. The initiative will allow viewers around the world to experience some of the most significant live performances of 2026 without attending the events in person.
The partnership between The Walt Disney Company and Live Nation is part of a broader strategy to strengthen live programming across streaming platforms, an area that has become increasingly important as audiences seek real-time access to concerts, cultural events, news and sports.
Lauren Tempest, Head of Content Planning and Partnerships for Direct-to-Consumer at The Walt Disney Company, emphasized the growing global appeal of music festivals and the importance of making those experiences available to wider audiences.
“Music festivals are some of the most electric and can't-miss moments in culture, and now Disney+ subscribers around the world can experience that excitement. As we continue expanding our live offerings, we remain committed to delivering the biggest and most iconic moments to fans as they happen, and we're thrilled to bring that vision to life with Live Nation.”
The expansion also reflects broader trends within the live music industry. According to Live Nation’s Living for Live 2025 study, audiences are increasingly listening to international artists and viewing live music as an experience that transcends borders and languages.
Kevin Chernett, Executive Vice President and Head of Global Media Partnerships at Live Nation, said livestreaming has transformed how fans experience major festivals.
“Music festivals used to be experiences reserved for the people who could physically be there. Now they're becoming global live moments that fans want to experience together in real time, no matter where they are in the world. Expanding this partnership with Disney+ and Hulu allows these festivals to reach music fans on an entirely different scale.”
In addition to the performances themselves, Disney+ will feature the Live Set, a dedicated content studio located at each festival where artists will be interviewed and exclusive behind-the-scenes content will be produced throughout each event weekend.
The first festival included in the initiative will be Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, taking place from June 11–14. It will be followed by Lollapalooza Chicago from July 30–August 2, while Austin City Limits Music Festival is scheduled for October 2–4.
Specific broadcast schedules and programming details have not yet been announced, though Disney and Live Nation confirmed that additional information will be released closer to each event.
