MADMANS ESPRIT's KYUHO responds to social media criticism following controversy involving Latin American fans

Madmans Esprit frontman Kyuho publicly addressed a controversy that emerged online after some fans questioned the absence of references to the band's Latin American performances in its official biography.

Kyuho, vocalist and founder of Madmans Esprit, has released a lengthy statement following several days of criticism related to information displayed in the band's official biography.

The controversy began after some fans pointed out that certain activities carried out by the band in Latin America, particularly in Brazil, were not reflected in the group's official website biography. The discussion quickly spread across social media, leading to criticism directed at the South Korean musician and sparking broader debates among followers.

In his statement, Kyuho clarified that he is not responsible for directly managing the band's website and noted that information regarding the Latin American tour had already been added. "I am not the one who manages the website. The Latin American tour is now listed."

The musician also rejected suggestions that specific activities or fan communities should receive special treatment within the band's official history. "We only publish recent activities or successful achievements to describe the band. If you think you've done a lot for the band, that doesn't mean you deserve special treatment."

Kyuho further argued that the relationship between artists and fans should be based on mutual respect and pushed back against what he described as attempts to pressure the band. "I make music and sell it. If you like it, you buy it. It's as simple as that."

As the statement continued, the vocalist expressed frustration over what he described as online harassment and raised concerns about how artists are treated on social media. "How much longer does an artist have to endure online harassment and violations of their human rights? We're all human beings."

The post also included several aggressive remarks directed toward some of the individuals involved in the dispute, comments that quickly circulated among fans and communities connected to visual kei and alternative metal.

Toward the end of the statement, Kyuho said he had no intention of continuing the discussion publicly and emphasized that he preferred to focus on those who continue to support the band. "I will not comment further on this matter. I won't stain the love and gratitude I have for the real fans with anger. We can stop now. Thank you for your continued support."

At the time of publication, Madmans Esprit has not issued any additional statement regarding the controversy beyond Kyuho's personal comments.

Founded in South Korea, Madmans Esprit has become one of the most recognized acts within the Asian alternative music scene through its blend of black metal, gothic metal, post-punk, experimental rock and visual kei influences. In recent years, the band has built a growing audience throughout Europe and Latin America, where it has performed multiple tours and festival appearances.
