Finnish singer Tarja Turunen has released “I Don’t Care,” the second single from her upcoming album Frisson Noir, featuring Dani Filth of Cradle of Filth. The track builds a direct contrast between Tarja’s operatic voice and Filth’s extreme delivery, creating a dynamic interplay between melody and abrasion.
The song functions as a statement of independence, addressing themes such as identity, social pressure, and perceptions of success. Musically, it blends symphonic arrangements with a heavier modern metal foundation, maintaining a dark and uncompromising tone.
The official video, released alongside the single, translates that contrast visually, bringing both artists together in a performance-driven setting that highlights the tension between classical aesthetics and aggressive elements.
Frisson Noir continues this approach, exploring the intersection between Tarja’s classical background and contemporary metal structures. The album moves between piano-driven passages, orchestral layers, and heavier sections, shaping a constantly shifting sonic landscape.
The record features ten tracks and includes contributions from Apocalyptica, Marko Hietala, and Chad Smith, with mixing handled by Grammy-winning producer Neal Avron. The overall direction aims to balance recognizable identity with a more modern production edge.
Speaking about the track, Tarja described it as a reflection of her stance against imposed expectations and a celebration of individuality, noting Dani Filth as a natural fit for the song’s concept.
The album will be available in multiple physical formats, including vinyl editions, CD digipak, and a limited collector’s box, emphasizing both its musical and collectible appeal.
