Airbourne announce self-titled album and release “Alive After Death (Last Plane Out)” as tribute to rock legacy

Airbourne release “Alive After Death” and announce new self-titled album for August 2026.

Australian band Airbourne have confirmed the release of their new self-titled album, set for August 28, 2026 via Spinefarm, alongside the debut of their latest single “Alive After Death (Last Plane Out)”.

The track is built around high-voltage riffs and a live-oriented structure, maintaining the classic hard rock approach that has defined the band since their early releases. Conceptually, the song acts as a tribute to key figures such as Lemmy Kilmister, Bon Scott and John Bonham, focusing on the enduring nature of musical legacy.

Frontman Joel O'Keeffe explained that the idea behind the track centers on how music keeps artists alive through listening, performance and memory.

The single was produced by Brian Howes, who previously worked with the band on Black Dog Barking, with engineering handled by Mike Fraser and mixing by Zakk Cervini, combining classic rock sonics with modern production.

The album announcement was delivered through a message addressed to Lemmy Kilmister, in which the band reflects on the creative process and acknowledges his influence as a defining force behind their sound.
