Behemoth have released “In League with Satan,” their reworking of the Venom classic featuring Dimmu Borgir frontman Shagrath. The track arrives alongside I, Scvlptor, released digitally through Nuclear Blast Records and physically via Massacre Records on September 4.
The collaboration is accompanied by a video produced by Polish collective Grupa 13. Nergal said the idea became intertwined with Behemoth and Dimmu Borgir’s upcoming In League with Satan Tour, with Behemoth rebuilding the Venom song around seven-string guitars and bringing Shagrath into the recording.
Despite being described as a new studio release, I, Scvlptor is not a conventional new Behemoth full-length. Nergal has characterized it more as a special compilation and transitional release following The Shit Ov God, the band’s 13th studio album, which arrived in May 2025. It contains eight previously unreleased tracks spanning new recordings, reworked older material and a live cut.
The collection includes newly recorded versions of early Behemoth tracks “Rise of the Blackstorm of Evil” and “In Thy Pandemaeternum.” It also pays tribute to another major influence with a take on Bathory’s “The Return of Darkness and Evil,” featuring Rotting Christ’s Sakis Tolis.
I, Scvlptor is available on CD, vinyl, cassette and a limited box set, as well as digitally. Rather than presenting the start of a completely separate album cycle, Behemoth are positioning the release as a link between their formative years, their current sound and whatever follows The Shit Ov God.
