North West releases debut EP N0rth4evr marking her official entry into music

North West releases her debut EP N0rth4evr, a six-track project exploring fame, identity and a blend of emo, trap and experimental production.

North West has taken a formal step into music with the release of her debut EP N0rth4evr, launched on May 1. At just 12 years old, the daughter of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian delivers a six-track project that explores both her artistic identity and her experience growing up under constant public attention.

The EP blends trap, emo, punk and experimental digital production, featuring heavily processed vocals, unconventional structures and a strong visual identity rooted in internet culture. One of the standout tracks, “W0ah,” directly addresses her relationship with fame from an early age, with lines such as “I was born a star / I never had a choice,” reflecting on a life shaped by public exposure.

Prior to this release, North West had already stepped into music through collaborations and live appearances. She contributed to projects connected to Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign, as well as FKA Twigs’ album EUSEXUA. She also released the single “Piercing on My Hand” earlier this year, although it was not included in the final EP.

In recent months, she has previewed original material on social media, including beats she produced herself, such as one sampling “Coldest Winter” from 808s & Heartbreak by Kanye West. These previews pointed toward a creative approach that includes both performance and production.

On the live front, the artist has appeared at recent shows, including performances alongside her father and an appearance in Mexico City. She is also scheduled to make her festival debut at Summer Smash in Chicago on June 12.

As part of the EP rollout, North West will host a pop-up event in Los Angeles in collaboration with Complex, centered around the N0rth4evr project.
