Venom announce new studio album “Into Oblivion” and release first single “Lay Down Your Soul”

Venom lanzará su nuevo álbum Into Oblivion el 1 de mayo vía Noise/BMG. El disco incluirá trece canciones y marca el primer material inédito de la banda desde Storm The Gates.

Legendary extreme metal pioneers Venom have announced the release of their new studio album Into Oblivion, set to arrive May 1 via Noise Records and BMG.

The announcement comes alongside the debut of the album’s first single, “Lay Down Your Soul”, accompanied by an official music video that offers fans an early glimpse of the band’s latest material.

Into Oblivion marks Venom’s sixteenth studio album and their first collection of new recordings since 2018’s Storm The Gates. The album features the band’s long-standing lineup consisting of Cronos on bass and vocals, Rage on guitar, and Danté on drums.

The new record contains thirteen tracks described as unmistakably Venom: heavy, sinister and memorable. According to the band, the album blends the classic sound that defined their early 1980s era with a more modern and progressive approach while retaining the fiery intensity that made them metal icons.

The album had been in development for several years but faced delays due to a number of circumstances, including the COVID-19 pandemic, recording setbacks and the band’s commitment to refining the material to its fullest potential.

Reflecting on the creative process behind the album, Cronos said:

“This album has really pushed the boundaries, but if you want to make a killer album, you pay for it in blood, sweat and tears.”

Since forming in the late 1970s, Venom have remained one of the most influential bands in extreme metal, widely credited with helping shape the foundations of thrash metal, black metal and other subgenres.
