Australian metalcore band The Amity Affliction have officially announced the details of their ninth studio album, titled House of Cards, marking a new chapter in a career defined by emotional catharsis, lyrical honesty, and a deep connection with their audience.
Alongside the album announcement, the band released the record’s title track, a song that captures the core concept of the project. House of Cards explores emotional fragility, cycles of self-destruction, and the feeling of living on the edge of collapse—recurring themes in The Amity Affliction’s catalog, now delivered with renewed intensity and a rawer production approach.
Vocalist Joel Birch spoke about the motivation behind the new material, explaining that the album reflects both personal and collective confrontation: “House of Cards is about realizing that we often build our lives on unstable foundations, and sooner or later everything can fall apart.
