Swedish metallers AVATAR have released their new single “Death And Glitz”, ahead of their upcoming album Don’t Go In The Forest, set to drop on October 31, 2025. The song probes themes of perversion and how society packages tragedy into a consumable spectacle—perfectly aligned with the band’s theatrical identity.
In conjunction with this release, AVATAR confirmed a Mexico City concert at the Pepsi Center WTC on that same October 31, part of their Latin American leg. The timing aligns with the album’s eerie vibe, promising a memorable Halloween-themed night for their fans in Mexico. The setlist is expected to feature both fan favorites and new material, with potential guest appearances and striking stage visuals.
Frontman Johannes Eckerström described “Death And Glitz” as a critique of turning suffering into entertainment: “Death reimagined as a perfect spectacle.” The official video mirrors this with haunting visuals and provocative imagery.
Following their Mexico date, AVATAR will headline UK and European legs in 2026 and join Metallica on their summer tour, furthering their international reach.
