Sony Music has released “War Pigs – Charity Version”, a historic collaboration between Ozzy Osbourne and Judas Priest. This reinterpretation of the Black Sabbath classic arrives only months after Ozzy’s passing on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76. His cause of death was a heart attack and cardiac arrest, with coronary disease and Parkinson’s disease listed as contributing factors.
Originally conceived as a tribute, the project evolved into a charity single supporting Parkinson’s research — a cause close to both Ozzy and Judas Priest guitarist Glenn Tipton, who also battles the disease. The recording features Tipton on guitar despite his condition, while Rob Halford and Ozzy trade vocal lines in a raw and emotional performance.
The release now stands as one of Ozzy’s final recordings, serving not only as a powerful musical statement but also as a testament to his humanity and commitment to meaningful causes.
All profits from physical sales, downloads, and streaming will be donated to The Glenn Tipton Parkinson’s Foundation and Cure Parkinson’s.
This collaboration is both a celebration of friendship and mutual respect among heavy metal icons and a fitting tribute to Ozzy Osbourne’s enduring legacy, which will continue to inspire generations.
