WEEZER Announce New Self-Titled Album And Release “We Might As Well Be Strangers” Featuring Karly Hartzman

Weezer will release a new self-titled album on August 21 via Reprise/Warner Records. The first single, “We Might As Well Be Strangers,” features Karly Hartzman of Wednesday.

Weezer have officially announced their next studio album. The band led by Rivers Cuomo will release a new self-titled record on August 21 through Reprise/Warner Records, marking the latest chapter in the career of one of alternative rock's most enduring acts.

The announcement arrives alongside the release of “We Might As Well Be Strangers,” the album's lead single. The track features Karly Hartzman, vocalist and songwriter for Wednesday, one of the most acclaimed voices to emerge from the contemporary American indie rock scene.

Although the release is officially another self-titled album, fans have already begun referring to it as "The Gold Album," continuing the unofficial tradition of identifying several Weezer records by color.

The project marks the band's sixteenth studio album and twentieth full-length release overall, extending a catalog that now spans more than three decades.
