Tom Morello has announced Everyone Gets Everything They Want, his latest full-length project and the first solo rock album released under his own name. The record will arrive on September 25, 2026, through Mom + Pop Music, featuring appearances by Serj Tankian, Kneecap and Beartooth, as well as significant creative contributions from his teenage son, Roman Morello.
The announcement arrives alongside “Date Night,” a song inspired by Truus Oversteegen, Freddie Oversteegen and Hannie Schaft, three young women who participated in the Dutch resistance during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands.
The album extends the relationship between music and activism that has defined Morello’s work since Rage Against the Machine, while returning to an openly rock-oriented instrumental approach. Production credits include Tyler Smyth, Carl Restivo, Zakk Cervini, Dan Carey and Sam Nelson Harris.
Morello describes the song as an explicit statement against racism, fascism and Nazism:
“I make anti-racist songs for anti-racists. I make anti-fascist songs for anti-fascists. And I make anti-Nazi songs for anti-Nazis. ‘Date Night’ is really a ‘which side are you on?’ song. If any of that offends you, do the math. Oh, and Roman Morello wrote the killer riff in this tune.”
Everyone Gets Everything They Want is being presented as Morello’s first solo rock album under his own name, an important distinction within a career that already includes substantial work outside his principal bands.
As The Nightwatchman, Morello released records centered on acoustic guitar, protest songs and politically driven folk music. He later used The Atlas Underground and its companion releases to combine rock, hip-hop and electronic production through an extensive group of guest vocalists, producers and instrumentalists.
The new album will move directly toward the language that established Morello as one of contemporary guitar’s most recognizable figures: heavy riffs, effects treated as compositional devices, solos that imitate electronic sounds and arrangements that place the guitar in unconventional roles.
Power To The People Will Unite Music and Activism
Following the album’s release, Morello will present Power To The People, a one-day festival scheduled for October 3, 2026, at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland.
The event will feature Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews, Joan Baez, Public Enemy, Dropkick Murphys, Killer Mike, Brittany Howard, Serj Tankian, Taylor Momsen, The Linda Lindas, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, Matt Cameron and other guests. Bruce Springsteen will appear as a special guest, while Shepard Fairey will perform a DJ set.
The festival will also involve organizations working in voter access, civic participation, mutual aid and community action. A portion of general ticket revenue and all net proceeds from VIP tickets will benefit VoteRiders and HeadCount.
