Metallica share video of '...And Justice for All' from their first night at the Sphere

Metallica share video of '...And Justice for All' at the Sphere, a song they hadn't played live since 2014.

Metallica have shared the official video of their performance of '...And Justice for All' at the first concert of 'Life Burns Faster,' the residency they opened on October 1 at the Sphere in Las Vegas. It was the first time since 2014 that the quartet had played the song live.

Lars Ulrich has said the idea came after watching U2 open the Sphere. "We have to do this. It's completely uncharted territory," he recalled thinking. "This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting." The drummer was also open about his pre-show nerves, calling the prospect "overwhelming" and "intimidating."

'Life Burns Faster' was announced in February with eight October dates. Demand led the band to add six shows in early March and ten more days later, bringing the residency to 24 concerts running through March 13, 2027. The format mirrors the M72 tour: each weekend has two nights, Thursday and Saturday, with completely different setlists and no songs repeated between them. The next show is this Saturday, October 17, and the remaining 2026 dates are October 22, 24, 29 and 31 and November 5 and 7. The residency returns January 28 and 30 and continues through February and March. For this run, the band invited attendees to submit photos to be projected on the venue's screen according to their show date.

The residency is an extension of the M72 tour, which since its spring 2023 launch has drawn more than four million people across Europe, North America, the Pacific Rim and the Middle East in support of '72 Seasons,' the band's latest album. The current lineup is Hetfield, Ulrich, Hammett and Trujillo.
