MACHINE GUN KELLY lashes out at YUNGBLUD: “You cancelled a tour because you weren’t selling tickets”

Tensions exploded between MACHINE GUN KELLY and YUNGBLUD after a heated public argument about concert prices, canceled tours and authenticity within the alternative music scene.

The alternative music scene erupted this week after Machine Gun Kelly publicly lashed out at Yungblud following the British singer’s criticism regarding rising concert ticket prices and the current state of live music.

The controversy began when YUNGBLUD published a video discussing how live concerts have become financially inaccessible for many younger fans. The British artist directly criticized expensive ticket pricing, VIP packages and premium concert experiences dominating the modern touring industry.

His statements quickly spread across social media, sparking widespread debate among fans and musicians about the current economic structure of live entertainment.

However, MACHINE GUN KELLY responded almost immediately. Through social media, MGK delivered an aggressive and highly personal response, accusing Yungblud of previously canceling a tour because of poor ticket sales while publicly blaming mental health struggles for the situation.

“You cancelled a tour because you couldn't sell tickets, blamed it on mental health and got photographed at Nobu the next day,” MGK wrote.

Over recent years, multiple artists and fans have openly criticized dynamic pricing systems implemented by major ticketing platforms and international promoters. In many cases, final ticket prices dramatically increase because of service fees, resale markets and premium packages.

The confrontation between MACHINE GUN KELLY and YUNGBLUD attracted even more attention due to the shared history between both musicians. For years, the two artists were viewed as key figures behind the mainstream revival of pop punk, emo and modern alternative rock, often appearing within the same festivals, scenes and musical circles.

MGK — born Colson Baker — helped commercially revive the genre through albums including Tickets to My Downfall and Mainstream Sellout, both produced alongside Travis Barker and widely credited for bringing pop punk back into mainstream visibility.

Amid the controversy, MACHINE GUN KELLY also officially confirmed his first-ever concert in Mexico. The artist will perform on September 3, 2026 at Estadio Fray Nano in Mexico City, marking his long-awaited debut in the country as a headlining act.
