American band Korn have surprise-released the single “Reward The Scars”, marking their first new material since the release of Requiem in 2022. The track is part of the soundtrack for the *Diablo IV: Lord Of Hatred expansion, set to launch on April 28 across multiple platforms.
The song revisits the band’s signature dark aesthetic, aligning with the game’s thematic universe, known for its grim and ritualistic tone. While not tied to a new album rollout, the release signals renewed studio activity following a period largely focused on touring.
Their latest album, Requiem, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hard Rock Albums chart and performed strongly across rock and alternative rankings, reaffirming the band’s position within the modern heavy music landscape. Produced by Chris Collier alongside the band, it balanced classic nu metal elements with a more restrained approach.
Meanwhile, Korn’s live lineup has seen changes in recent years. Bassist Reginald 'Fieldy' Arvizu has been absent from touring since 2021, with Roberto 'Ra' Díaz stepping in for live performances. However, Fieldy did contribute to the recording of Requiem.
