Rammstein estrena “Sonne”, segundo adelanto de Live in Mexico City

Rammstein release “Sonne,” second single from Live in Mexico City

Rammstein release “Sonne,” the second preview of Live in Mexico City, captured across three nights in front of nearly 200,000 fans.

Four years after those three nights at Foro Sol, Rammstein are back in Mexico City with “Sonne,” the second single taken from Rammstein – Live in Mexico City. Released on October 5, the official video captures one of the defining songs from Mutter inside the enormous stage production the band brought to the Mexican capital in 2022.

“Sonne” follows “Armee der Tristen,” released on September 23 as the first live single from the project. Both performances come from the band’s concerts on October 1, 2 and 4, 2022, when Rammstein sold out Foro Sol three times and played to nearly 200,000 people.

The footage communicates the size of those shows without needing much embellishment. The stage dominates the frame, columns of fire punctuate the song and the crowd turns the “Sonne” chorus into one of the loudest moments of the night. For all the scale involved, the cameras still stay close enough to capture the interaction between the musicians and the front rows.

The film was directed by Paul Dugdale and assembled from footage shot in 4K across all three concerts. Wide stadium views are cut against handheld stage cameras and close-ups, giving the film room to show both the industrial architecture of the production and details that can easily disappear inside a stadium-sized performance.

The Mexico City shows closed the North American leg of the Stadium Tour in 2022. Rammstein ultimately kept that production on the road from 2019 through 2024, playing 138 concerts in 29 countries to around six million people.

Rammstein – Live in Mexico City reaches cinemas in multiple territories on November 4, 2026 for a limited run. The theatrical cut features 20 songs, including “Deutschland,” “Du hast,” “Sonne,” “Ich will” and the Mexico City finale “Te Quiero Puta!”. The live album and home editions follow on November 20.

Physical releases include 2CD, Blu-ray and 4LP configurations alongside several special editions. The Blu-ray contains the extended concert film with Dolby Atmos audio, while the vinyl editions include both black records and a version using the colours of the Mexican flag.
