PERIPHERY will begin its upcoming European and U.K. tour without longtime guitarist, programmer, and synth architect Jake Bowen.
The musician revealed the news through a video shared on both his personal social media accounts and the band's official platforms. In the statement, Bowen explained that he will remain at home to be with a seriously ill family member.
While Bowen will not be physically present on stage, fans will still hear his contributions throughout the performances. Prior to the tour, he recorded all of his guitar, programming, and synthesizer parts for the setlist, allowing the band to incorporate them into the live show through backing tracks.
These recordings will be used as backing tracks during live performances, allowing the band to keep intact the arrangements and sound elements characteristic of their style.
His temporary absence is particularly notable given his crucial role within PERIPHERY. Beyond his work as a guitarist, Bowen has been instrumental in shaping the band's sonic identity through his programming, electronic arrangements, and sound design contributions.
At this time, Bowen's absence is confirmed for the June dates of the tour. It remains unclear whether he will be able to rejoin the band for the remaining European performances scheduled later in the run.
The band has not announced any replacement musician for the upcoming shows, and all scheduled performances are expected to proceed as planned while Bowen remains with his family.
