Daron Malakian And Scars On Broadway Release Video, 'Killing Spree'

Following the success of System Of A Down's stadium tour in South America, Daron Malakian And Scars On Broadway are back with 'Killing Spree', their new single and first promotional cut from the band's third studio album, 'Addicted to the Violence', which will be released on July 18th.

The video was directed by Lorenzo Diego Carrera and Daron Malakian. You can watch it below.

“It’s a taboo subject that people might be afraid to talk about,” Malakian says of “Killing Spree.” “Children have rebelled forever. Mental disorders have existed, too. In the last 15 years, we’ve seen a generation that goes into school and kills other students. I’m not romanticizing or defending it. I’m just saying, ‘Children are on a fucking killing spree.’ That’s what I see in front of me. And I don’t just mean murder. You’ll see a lady being beaten up on the subway, and the people around her aren’t even helping her; they’re filming her with their iPhones. We had automatic weapons 50 years ago, and nobody did this. I blame the mentality. Now we have such a distant and insensitive generation. They’re totally unfeeling and unemotional. There’s no respect for life.”

Over the past few years, Malakian meticulously assembled what would become Addicted to the Violence. Once again, he led the project as its primary creator, composing, producing, and performing, with collaborations from his former bandmates Orbel Babayan (guitar) and Roman Lomtadze (drums).
