Motörhead and Lemmy Kilmister will be the focus of a new exhibition opening at The Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas on October 2, 2026, bringing together personal items, photographs, handwritten lyrics and equipment connected to the late frontman’s career.
One of the exhibition’s most unusual features will allow visitors to play Lemmy’s bass through an actual amplifier stack he used, offering a hands-on connection to the gear behind Motörhead’s famously overwhelming live sound.
The exhibition also highlights why Motörhead belongs naturally inside a museum devoted to punk history. While the band became enormously influential within heavy metal, Lemmy and Motörhead always maintained deep ties to the British punk scene, and their speed, volume and attitude went on to influence later bands including Rancid, Pennywise and Lagwagon.
Personal photographs and handwritten Lemmy lyrics will also be displayed, providing a closer look at the musician beyond the stage. Motörhead records will be available through the museum’s Vinyl Threat record shop, while exclusive merchandise tied to the exhibition will be offered in the gift shop.
Opening night will include an additional celebration at the museum’s Three Star Punk Bar, where Metal Blade Records founder Brian Slagel will DJ a special set honoring Lemmy and Motörhead.
The Punk Rock Museum opened in 2023 at 1422 Western Avenue in Las Vegas and houses instruments, clothing, artwork, photographs and memorabilia documenting multiple generations of punk history.
The Motörhead exhibition officially opens Friday, October 2, 2026.
