Electric Callboy has released “The Way You Are,” the latest single from Tanzneid, the German band’s upcoming album, due August 7th, 2026, through Century Media Records. The song begins with the melodies and vocal harmonies associated with late-Nineties boy bands before moving into one of the heaviest passages the group has recorded throughout its career.
That collision between the accessibility of pop and the intensity of metal has remained a defining element of Electric Callboy’s current era, although “The Way You Are” takes the formula into different territory. Instead of immediately turning toward electronic music, Eurodance or the fitness-culture references behind songs such as “Hypa Hypa,” “Pump It” and “We Got the Moves,” the band revisits the romantic aesthetics of a generation dominated by synchronized choreography, elaborate music videos and radio-ready choruses.
According to the band, the song grew from one specific question: What would happen if an extremely sweet late-Nineties boy-band love ballad suddenly became one of the heaviest songs they had ever written?
“We loved playing with that contrast, both musically and visually. The result is probably one of the most unexpected songs we’ve ever released, and definitely one of our favorites on Tanzneid,” Electric Callboy explained.
The album release will be accompanied by several events in Berlin. On August 7th, the day Tanzneid arrives, an official release party will take place at Huxleys Neue Welt, including an Electric Bassboy DJ set.
One day later, Electric Callboy will headline Escalation Fest 2026 at Parkbühne Wuhlheide. The lineup also includes Paleface Swiss, The Rasmus, Alestorm, The Hardkiss and Heavysaurus, alongside additional special guests. The performance will give the band its first opportunity to bring the new album to the stage as part of a large-scale release celebration.
Following the Berlin performances, the tour will continue across Japan, Australia and Europe, reflecting the international reach achieved by a band that, less than a decade ago, remained primarily associated with the European metalcore circuit.
