Jonathan Davis, frontman of Korn, will appear as a special guest during Yoshiki's classical concerts on July 16 and July 17 at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. Each performance will feature a different concept, with the first evening presented as "Scarlet Night" and the second as "Violet Night," offering audiences two distinct musical experiences.
The collaboration brings together two musicians whose careers have consistently blended rock and metal with influences from other musical traditions. Internationally recognized as the co-founder, drummer, pianist and principal songwriter of X Japan, Yoshiki has built a solo career centered on classical music while maintaining the dramatic intensity and musical ambition that defined the legendary Japanese band.
The concerts also mark Yoshiki's return to the United States following his recovery from a third cervical spine surgery performed in 2024. Since undergoing the procedure, the musician temporarily reduced his live schedule while completing his rehabilitation before returning to the stage.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Davis remains active with Korn, which recently completed a Latin American tour alongside Spiritbox and Seven Hours After Violet. Guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer also recently confirmed that the band is working on the follow-up to Requiem (2022). According to Shaffer, the group has written nearly 40 songs, although no release date has been announced for the new album.
Following the performances with Yoshiki, Korn will head to Europe and the United Kingdom for its first headline tour in those territories in more than a decade, joined by Architects, Youth Code, and Pixel Grip.
