Fred Durst proposes alternative to Coachella focused on "not invited" artists

Fred Durst has proposed an alternative festival concept to Coachella, aimed at artists often excluded from major events.

Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst has publicly suggested the idea of creating an alternative to Coachella, with a focus on artists who are frequently left out of major festivals and award circuits.

The proposal emerged from a social media exchange with Lil Wayne, who expressed frustration at repeatedly being excluded from events like Coachella and the Grammy Awards. In response, Durst proposed building a new “experience gathering” designed to welcome those artists, adding that he has been developing ideas around this concept for some time.

No concrete details regarding dates, format, or location have been confirmed. However, the concept points toward a rethinking of traditional festival models, suggesting a more inclusive approach to artist curation. It also reflects an ongoing conversation within the music industry about how lineups for major events are selected.

It is notable that Limp Bizkit, despite their long-standing popularity and festival presence, have never appeared at Coachella since its inception in 1999. The band has, however, maintained a consistent presence at major international festivals such as Download Festival, Rock am Ring and Hellfest, among others.s

Currently, the band remain active on the global touring circuit, with multiple festival dates scheduled across Europe and North America in 2026. At the same time, Fred Durst is set to appear on the upcoming single “Fix Ur Face” alongside Machine Gun Kelly, maintaining his presence in both live and recorded formats.
