American rock band Evanescence have released their new single “Who Will You Follow,” marking the beginning of a new cycle that will culminate with their upcoming album Sanctuary, set for release on June 5, 2026. The track offers the first official glimpse into a project that has been in development for over three years.
The song was co-written and produced by Zakk Cervini and Jordan Fish, both recognized figures in modern rock and alternative production. Additional tracks on the album feature production by Nick Raskulinecz, creating a balance between contemporary sound design and established production expertise.
According to Amy Lee, Sanctuary represents a deeply personal and extended creative process. The album reflects a period of emotional processing, using music as an outlet and a means of reconnecting with purpose. This direction results in a body of work rooted in introspection while maintaining the accessibility that has defined the band’s sound.
The album will be released across multiple formats, including digital, standard CD, deluxe CD and a limited-edition box set. A double vinyl edition is scheduled for September 4, 2026
Evanescence’s legacy continues to frame expectations around the new release. Their debut album Fallen (2003) remains one of the best-selling records of the 21st century, surpassing 17 million copies worldwide. Singles such as “Bring Me to Life” and “My Immortal” established the band’s global presence across multiple markets.
More than two decades later, Evanescence continue to operate at the intersection of alternative and mainstream rock. Sanctuary stands as a continuation of that trajectory, integrating new production layers while maintaining a consistent artistic identity.
