The Pretty Reckless announce new album DEAR GOD and release “When I Wake Up”

The Pretty Reckless announce their fifth album DEAR GOD and release the new single “When I Wake Up,” launching a new era ahead of their global tour in 2026.

Multi-platinum rock band The Pretty Reckless have launched a powerful new era with the announcement of their upcoming fifth studio album DEAR GOD, alongside the release of the new single “When I Wake Up.” The track arrives via Fearless Records and marks the beginning of a new creative chapter for the band led by Taylor Momsen.

The upcoming album is described as one of the band’s most raw and emotionally direct releases yet. According to the group, DEAR GOD embraces vulnerability, artistic freedom and intense storytelling through a diaristic songwriting approach.

The new single “When I Wake Up” reflects that direction, leaning into a punk-driven sound while retaining the band’s signature elements — explosive guitar work and Momsen’s unmistakable powerhouse vocals.

Speaking about the track, Momsen said: “‘When I Wake Up’ is the story of a dream that turns into a nightmare. When a life of excess becomes a roller coaster destined to derail, but you simply can’t see it. It’s a good time…”

The album will also feature the single For I Am Death, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart last November. The achievement marked the band’s fourth consecutive No. 1 on the chart, reinforcing their status within modern rock.

To support the album, the band will embark on the DEAR GOD Tour, a global run beginning in North America with stops in cities such as New Orleans, Dallas and Los Angeles before heading to Europe.s

The upcoming tour follows the band’s extensive two-year run alongside AC/DC on the PWR UP Tour, which included a performance in Mexico City earlier this year.

Additionally, the band released the EP Taylor Momsen's Pretty Reckless Christmas, featuring a reimagined version of Where Are You Christmas?, which topped the Billboard Hot Hard Rock Songs chart.

Since their debut album Light Me Up, The Pretty Reckless have built a global following with hits such as Heaven Knows and made history as the first female-fronted band to achieve eight No. 1 singles on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.
