Dallas death metal/hardcore bruisers Frozen Soul have announced their third studio album, No Place of Warmth, set for release on May 8, 2026 via Century Media. The record is framed as a towering, demanding set of anthems — ferocity balanced with subtle melody, where soaring leads cut through merciless riffs like a lantern in a black chasm.
Leading the announcement is the album opener and title track, “No Place of Warmth,” featuring Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance). The single is available now across all digital platforms and follows the band’s 53-second anti-authoritarian blast “Absolute Zero,” released earlier this month.
Vocalist Chad Green described the song’s core meaning:
“about life at its coldest and the choice you have to let it consume you, or to use it to find warmth in a world that feels void of it. Life is always coming at you, and death doesn’t stop—you might slow it down, but it’s always coming—so you have to make the best out of it and march on”
Green teamed with director Brendan McGowen to translate that concept into a visual narrative. Actor London Smith, who appeared in Frozen Soul’s 2023 “Morbid Effigy,” returns — this time embodying Death.
Green explains the video’s central defiance:
“The lead character attempts to keep her dagger with rosary beads away from Death, as a stand to say we won’t be afraid of what’s coming and we will live happy with the memories and experiences of our time here,”
On how the Gerard Way collaboration came to be, Green added:
“We met Gerard a couple of years ago and have become friends. I knew he had a love for metal, so I spun the idea to him about singing in a Frozen Soul song and he was stoked! Gerard is an amazing artist and musician whose creative vision has shaped generations and more to come.”
Across No Place of Warmth, Frozen Soul lean into stories about the darker territory that comes with everyday struggle — surveying the wasteland after victory, acknowledging the cold realities, and still handing listeners the motivation to push forward on their own terms.
