Megadeth announces tour of Mexico in 2026

Megadeth returns to Mexico and confirms the release of their latest self-titled album on January 23, 2026, with a surprise track: a new version of “Ride The Lightning”, co-written with Metallica.

Megadeth announced their return to Mexico as part of their farewell tour, ‘This Was Our Life,’ with three confirmed dates in May 2026 in Guadalajara, Mexico City, and Monterrey. The presale for Banco Azteca cardholders will be on November 10th and 11th through Superboletos.

  • May 8, Arena Monterrey
  • May 10, Mexico City Arena
  • May 13, Arena Guadalajara

The band has also revealed details of their final studio album, simply titled Megadeth, which will be released on January 23, 2026, under Dave Mustaine's Tradecraft label, in collaboration with BLKIIBLK, a new division of Frontiers Label Group.

The album will include the recent single “Tipping Point” and a very special bonus track: a reinterpretation of “Ride The Lightning”, a song that Mustaine co-wrote with James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich and Cliff Burton during his early days with Metallica.

“In closing the circle of a lifetime’s career, including ‘Ride The Lightning,’ a song I co-wrote with James, Lars and Cliff, is my way of paying respect to the place where it all began,” Mustaine explained.
