Stoke-on-Trent, hometown of legendary Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister, has announced that it has approved a project to erect a 2.5-metre bronze statue of the singer in the Burslem neighborhood, the work of sculptor Andy Edward.
To achieve this, a financing campaign has been launched, seeking to raise £50,000. Up to this point, just over 10% of the final goal has been achieved. You can contribute, here.
Ian 'Lemmy' Kilmister was born on December 24, 1945 in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. He moved very young to Newcastle-under-Lyme for his father's job and later to Wales, where he lived throughout his adolescence and where he founded Motörhead in 1975.
