WOLFHEART (1995)

51FLfc6Q0LAlthough it is not as such his first production because the EP precedes him "Under The Moonspell"If it is the first full-length album of Moonspell. Released April 1, 1995 via Century Media Records contains 8 themes (and as an additional in a special edition "Ataegina ”, which together with "Trebaruna" They are the only tracks in Portuguese on the album) and barely reaches 3 quarters of an hour. The topic "An Erotic Alchemy ” is an ode to the literature of the Marquis de Sade, a topic that has been used as a reference in many subsequent works of the band throughout its career. We also find in this album two of which at the moment are still successful songs of the band such as "Vampiria" and "Alma mater". Cataloging the sound of this album in a single sub-genre is impossible, since it has overtones ranging from black and the folk metal , until the Gothic Rock.

The impact of Wolfheart It has been of such a size that in 2010 the Portuguese postal service decided to include the album cover in its circulation of commemorative postage stamps on the most influential moments or records in the history of rock in that country.

IRRELIGIOUS (1996)

K63947000000000 00Also distributed by Century Media Records, was released on July 29, 1996. This album would undoubtedly become one of the largest hotbeds of classical songs in Moonspell: both the first  single "Opium" how Ruin & Misery and "Full Moon Madness" These are songs that have undoubtedly become the favorite of all time for fans. "Awake!" for its part is famous for the curiosity of having a fragment of a poem by the Satanist Alister Crowley. The sound of this album definitely exorcises the beginnings black metal of the band and sells his soul completely to gothic metal with misty and gloomy atmospheres from start to finish. The entire album moves between the macabre and the mystical, without of course losing strength or becoming a monotonous corridor of shadows.

The album sold more than 500,000 copies and managed to succeed in projection and scope to their successful debut album. The theme video clip "Opium" where a smoking room for this substance is recreated, it was censured by European television networks, which of course contributed to its success.

Moonspell is presented in the Lunario of the National Auditorium of the CDMX East December 2, in a special presentation where he will fully perform both albums to the delight of his most staunch fans. A must for those who want to enjoy live the history of the genesis of a true icon of the Gothic metal scene.
