RAMMSTEIN: Top 10 Songs from the German Combo

RAMMSTEIN is far from alone 'Du hast'. What's more, although the song has become the band's greatest hymn and has a rather clever play on words, we cannot say that it is one of the best songs of the German arsonists, who through 6 studio albums, They have led us down a path filled with stories of terror, depravity, cannibalism, unrequited love and satire, giving us a better look at humanity's ugliest face.

Less than a week after his return to Mexico to head the Corona Hell and Heaven Metal Fest 2016, we bring you this list with 10 of the songs you should know about the German band. And no it doesn't come 'Du hast'.

Provocation and rugged themes have been around since the band's earliest beginnings, and one example is this track released in 1997 alongside the album 'Sehnsucht'. A story told from the point of view of a pedophile who kindly asks his little brother to "shake the branches of the tree" in order to sleep comfortably.

[cbtabs] [cbtab title = ”9. Du Riechst so Gut ”] [/ cbtab] [/ cbtabs]

The first single released by Berliners in that now distant 1995 set the tone for what Rammstein had to offer the world. A Rammstein-style vampire story with electronic sounds commanded by the song along with powerful guitarists and the original and monotonous style of Christoph Schneider make 'Du riechst so gut' a great song.

[cbtabs] [cbtab title = ”8. Feuer und Wasser ”] [/ cbtab] [/ cbtabs]

Underrated by many and even unknown to non-staunch Rammstein fans, 'Feuer und wasser' was released in 2005 alongside the band's least appreciated album, 'Rosenrot'. A theme that goes from less to more, about a man and his unrequited love for a woman who does not even realize their existence, making a metaphor of water and fire that can never be together. "Fire and water never meet, you cannot tie them, they cannot join ..."

[cbtabs] [cbtab title = ”7. Mein Teil ”] [/ cbtab] [/ cbtabs]

After the success achieved with 'Mutter' and leaving behind the conflicts that this entailed, the Germans made their triumphant return in 2004 with the powerful 'Mein Teil', inspired by the story of Armin Meiwes, “The Cannibal of Rothenburg”. Raucous guitars, heartbreaking screams produced by Flake Lorenz's synthesizer and Lindemann's voice, remind us that you are what you eat. And in this case, it is a penis.

[cbtabs] [cbtab title = ”6. Seemann ”] [/ cbtab] [/ cbtabs]

Rammstein's original ballad. Written by bassist Oliver Riedel, it became a symbol of the band's early years and a moment of great intensity especially for the band's older fans. How to forget Flake sailing on the raft in 'Live aus Berlin' demonstrating that indeed, the best sailor is him? If you don't scream with Seemann, you're not a fan.

[cbtabs] [cbtab title = ”5. Halt ”] [/ cbtab] [/ cbtabs]

Can anyone explain to me why 'Halt' is not part of the main 'Liebe ist für alle da' tracklist? Relegated to being a Bonus Track in the special edition of the album, 'Halt' speaks to us from the point of view of a misanthrope who seeks a bit of calm, quieting the hearts of others ... with a gun.

[cbtabs] [cbtab title = ”4. Waidmanns Heil ”] [/ cbtab] [/ cbtabs]

According to Till Lindemann, the best hunting class is sexual. Making use of the well-known metaphors in the songs of the band, Till immerses us in his special techniques so that "the fawn feels the flash of the shotgun." One of the fastest songs in Rammstein's discography and a delight for the moshpit in the Teutons shows.

[cbtabs] [cbtab title = ”3. Ich Tu´Dir Weh ”] [/ cbtab] [/ cbtabs]

The Rammstein members are addicted to love. To all kinds of love. 'Ich tu´dir weh' was the cause of LIFAD's censorship in Germany in 2009, as the German government considered it dangerous for youth as it allegedly encouraged sadomasochism and violent relationships. An immense chorus that glorifies Lindemann's voice, together with the guitarists of Kruspe and Landers create the perfect mix to accelerate hearts. "I hurt you, I do not regret it, this is good for you, listen to yourself scream!"

[cbtabs] [cbtab title = ”2. Sonne ”] [/ cbtab] [/ cbtabs]

"What's the name of the Rammstein video where Snow White comes out?" It's called 'Sonne', rookie and it was the starting flag of the acclaimed 'Mutter', as well as one of the highest points in the band's presentations. Inspired by the history of the Ukrainian boxer Vitali Volodymyrovych KlitschkOr it is one of Rammstein's most successful songs for its impressive rhythm, powerful sound and even better chorus, framed by the voices created by the program Symphony of the Voices. Here comes the Sun!

[cbtabs] [cbtab title = ”1. Mein Herz Brennt ”] [/ cbtab] [/ cbtabs]

“They will visit them at night; demons, spirits and black fairies ”. What are you afraid of? Asks Rammstein, in this ode to fear itself, making a journey through children's nightmares along with some great orchestral sounds, led by strings that remain forever marked. Originally the opening song for 'Mutter' and then released as a single only in 2012 - with 3 videos in between - without a doubt, 'Mein Herz brennt' is one of the highlights of Rammstein's musical career.
