Depressive black metal masters Ghost Bath have re-emerged from the shadows with their new album, Rose Thorn Necklace, out May 9 via Nuclear Blast Records.
The band reveals the atmospheric second single, ‘Well, I Tried Drowning.’ Watch the video directed by Claudio Marino of Artax Film.
GHOST BATH comments: “‘Well, I Tried Drowning’ is a plea to death, not by my own hands, but for someone to do me that favor, as I haven’t been able to. It’s a fantasy – rooted in hopeful thoughts – that someone would slit my throat in my sleep, ultimately ending my life as I choke on my own blood. Wish fulfillment in raw, gory detail.”
Rose Thorn Necklace was recorded in 2024, between January and June. The drums were recorded and produced by Mike Heller at Heaven and Heller Studios, while the other sections were completed by Nameless (Dennis Mikula) in his home studio. The album was mixed and mastered by Jack Shirley. The cover artwork was created by Ksenija Tarasova.
