As I Lay Dying will release their new self-titled album, As I Lay Dying, on February 5, 2027 via Napalm Records. The announcement arrives alongside two new singles, “Polarized” and “Retribution,” deliberately selected to represent opposite ends of a record the band describes as both a continuation and a reset.
“Polarized” leans toward the more melodic and accessible side of the group, retaining heavy guitar work within a more immediate, driving structure. “Retribution,” by contrast, accelerates into a darker, more aggressive and heavier direction. According to As I Lay Dying, much of the album exists somewhere between those two songs.
The record follows Through Storms Ahead, released in 2024, but also represents the first full-length built by the current lineup following the extensive restructuring the band underwent late that year. Tim Lambesis remains the sole founding member, joined by Chris Clancy on bass and clean vocals, guitarists Bill Hudson and Don Vedda, and drummer Tim Yeung.
Production was handled by Chris Clancy and Tim Lambesis, while “No Way Out” was produced by Dusten Boles. That track also features a guest appearance from CJ McCreery, vocalist of Immortal Disfigurement. The artwork was created by Corey Meyers, who has been involved with the band’s visual identity since “My Own Grave.”
The record follows an unusually turbulent period for the band. In October 2024, Ryan Neff, Ken Susi, Nick Pierce and longtime guitarist Phil Sgrosso separately announced their departures from As I Lay Dying within a period of less than two weeks. Lambesis subsequently rebuilt the group around a new set of musicians, creating the lineup now responsible for this next chapter.
As I Lay Dying will also return to North America in November and December 2026 for the final dates of their Shadows Are Security run with The Curse Within. In February and March 2027, around the release of the new album, the band will launch another extensive U.S. tour with Immortal Disfigurement as special guest.
