Dead Poet Society have released “Miami For The Weekend,” the final preview of their forthcoming album Monarch, due October 2 through Spinefarm. The track follows “Cold,” “Roach” and “Sinner Systems,” completing the run of singles that has introduced the band’s next chapter.
The new material continues Dead Poet Society’s balance of weight, melody and emotional tension, while Monarch pushes those elements through a broader and more refined production approach.
The album was produced by Mutemath frontman Paul Meany, whose credits include Twenty One Pilots and Pierce The Veil, and mixed by Grammy-winning engineer Adam Hawkins, known for his work with Turnstile and Yungblud. Recording took place at Valley View Studios and The Park in Los Angeles.
Vocalist and guitarist Jack Underkofler describes the record as an attempt to go deeper into the instincts that have always defined Dead Poet Society rather than abandon them in search of reinvention. The band focused on expanding the emotional and musical characteristics already central to its identity.
Monarch follows 2024’s FISSION and the band’s 2021 debut full-length -!-. The new record builds on both while placing greater emphasis on contrast, vulnerability, heaviness and melodic immediacy.
The album campaign also includes The House, an interactive experience inspired by the Monarch artwork, which depicts a young girl surrounded by ringing phones. The project expands the visual and narrative world surrounding the record beyond the music itself.
Monarch will be available digitally, on CD and across multiple limited-edition vinyl variants, including an edition featuring an expanded booklet.
