KISS have new music in the vault. Tommy Thayer has confirmed that the band recently recorded a song written by Paul Stanley, backing up comments Gene Simmons made earlier this year about KISS returning to the studio. No title or release date has been announced.
“We did record a great new song that Paul wrote,” Thayer told Guitar World. He stopped short of revealing anything further, but stressed that any new KISS music needs to feel like an event rather than exist simply because the band is expected to make another record.
Some of that music could eventually connect with KISS’ upcoming project with Pophouse Entertainment. The company is developing an avatar-based KISS experience scheduled to launch in Las Vegas in 2028, and Simmons has previously said the production will feature both established classics and newly written songs.
KISS ended their farewell tour in December 2023, but the band has repeatedly indicated that retiring from large-scale touring did not necessarily mean the end of KISS as a creative entity. This newly recorded song is the clearest sign yet that their recording history may still have another chapter ahead.
