After more than four decades building a catalog rooted in punk, rock and roll and American country, Social Distortion are finally extending their story across a larger part of Latin America. The Mike Ness-led band have announced five November 2026 concerts in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil and Chile, with tickets going on sale beginning July 28.s
The run opens at Velódromo Olímpico in Mexico City on November 6. It continues at C Art Media in Buenos Aires on November 9, Vibra São Paulo on November 14 and Live Curitiba on November 15 before concluding at Teatro Caupolicán in Santiago on November 17.
The shows will mark Social Distortion’s first performances in Mexico, Argentina and Chile. This is not, however, their first appearance anywhere in Latin America: the band played four Brazilian dates in April 2010. The newly announced run therefore marks their return to the region after 16 years and the most extensive Latin American itinerary of their career.
The amount of time it has taken Social Distortion to reach several of these countries is striking. Since emerging from Southern California in the late Seventies, the group has developed a close relationship with Latino audiences in the United States while influencing generations of punk musicians well beyond its home country.
That influence never came solely from the aggression of the band’s early material. Mike Ness gradually forged his own musical language by bringing country, blues, rockabilly and the storytelling traditions of artists such as Johnny Cash and Hank Williams into Social Distortion’s punk foundation.
Albums including Mommy’s Little Monster, Prison Bound, Social Distortion, Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell and White Light, White Heat, White Trash trace that evolution. “Story of My Life,” “Ball and Chain,” “Bad Luck” and “Reach for the Sky” turned failure, addiction, broken relationships and survival into the center of the band’s songbook.
Ticket sales begin on Tuesday, July 28, through the designated platform in each country. General sales for the Mexico City concert open at 10 a.m. through TIXR.
