Twin Temple has announced that it has been removed from its scheduled performances with American musician Charley Crockett next week after, according to the band, Crockett decided to take them off the lineup because of their satanic imagery. The group shared the news through an official statement on social media.
In the statement, Twin Temple said it had been informed of the decision that day and confirmed it would no longer perform on the previously announced dates.
"Today we were informed that Charley Crockett has decided to remove Twin Temple from his upcoming shows next week due to our Satanic imagery."
The band said the decision means it will no longer be able to perform as planned and expressed disappointment over the cancellation.
"Unfortunately, that means we will not be able to perform for you next week as planned. We are really disappointed as we were looking forward to getting back out and seeing you, and also what it meant as far as bringing different types of people and music lovers together."
Twin Temple also apologized to fans who were planning to attend the shows and thanked supporters for standing behind both the band and artistic expression.
"We're grateful for your support, not only of Twin Temple, but more importantly of artistic freedom."
At the time of publication, Charley Crockett had not issued a public statement responding to Twin Temple's claims or offering his own account of the decision referenced by the band.
Based in Los Angeles, Twin Temple has built its identity around blending 1950s and 1960s doo-wop and rock and roll with ceremonial Satanic imagery, a concept that remains central to the band's music, performances, and visual presentation.
