Danny Carey and The Crystal Method take over Las Vegas for “Good Luck Have Fun Don’t Die”

Danny Carey and The Crystal Method joined a Las Vegas activation unveiling “Good Luck Have Fun Don’t Die,” inspired by Gore Verbinski’s new film.

The activation featured the Legacy High School drum line led by Danny Carey of Tool, who contributed to the newly released track of the same name. The procession marched down Fremont Street before culminating at the Corner Bar, where the celebration continued with an hour-long performance by The Crystal Method.

The song “Good Luck Have Fun Don’t Die” was produced on an accelerated timeline. According to Pat Lascu of Lasco Productions, the concept emerged just weeks before the activation. Writer-producer Joe Carmadone, alongside Carey and Shepard, completed the track in a matter of days, drawing from the film’s central themes.

Carmadone noted that the film explores the degradation of humanity through the digitization of personal interaction — a concept that translated naturally into sound. The final composition blends cinematic textures with a commanding rhythm section, evoking a dystopian Los Angeles atmosphere.

The film follows a man claiming to be from the future who takes patrons of the iconic Norms diner in Los Angeles hostage while searching for unlikely recruits to save the world. The film, the song and its accompanying music video are now available across platforms.
