Norwegian singer and composer Einar Solberg, best known as the frontman of Leprous, has officially announced his second solo album, Vox Occulta. The record represents another step into Solberg’s deeply personal artistic territory, separate from his work with the band.
Following his solo debut, Solberg returns with an album that pushes further into emotional exposure and sonic exploration. Vox Occulta is described as an intensely introspective work, placing the human voice at the center while exploring thoughts and feelings that often remain unspoken.
Musically, the album moves through minimalistic passages, atmospheric textures and moments of heightened emotional intensity. Solberg experiments with extreme dynamics, silence and layered vocal arrangements, reinforcing the confessional and immersive nature of the record.
The album’s title —“hidden voice”— encapsulates its core concept: giving sound to suppressed emotions, inner conflict and complex mental states. This thematic focus turns Vox Occulta into an intimate listening experience, best absorbed in solitude.
With his second solo release, Einar Solberg further establishes himself as a fearless and multifaceted artist. Vox Occulta stands as a significant chapter in his creative evolution, expanding his expressive range beyond the boundaries of progressive metal.
