MØL sharpen their emotional vision with “CRUSH,” new single from Dreamcrush

MØL release “CRUSH,” a powerful new single offering a deeper look into Dreamcrush, their most immersive and emotionally charged album yet.

Danish alt-metal visionaries MØL continue building anticipation for their third studio album Dreamcrush with the release of “CRUSH,” a striking new single that refines the emotional core of the record. The track arrives as the band prepares to take Dreamcrush on tour across Europe and the UK in February.

“CRUSH” encapsulates the duality that defines MØL’s identity — the constant movement between melancholy and joy, uplifting beauty and emotional devastation. Guitarist Nicolai Busse describes the song as a gradual unravelling of the familiar, where acceptance of the mundane and chaotic can give rise to quiet growth and renewal.

With Dreamcrush, MØL temper their sharpest edges with elevated alt-rock hooks, exploring the tension between dreams and reality. The album reflects on how ambition can both sustain and destroy us, blending aggression and melody into what stands as the band’s most expressive and affecting work to date.

Following the critically acclaimed Jord (2019) and Diorama (2021), Dreamcrush marks a confident evolution in the band’s sound. Drawing inspiration from acts such as My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins and Smashing Pumpkins, the album delves into recurring themes of belonging, resilience and finding a sense of home within oneself.

Recorded over several months in Aarhus, the album allowed the band to shape its identity organically. Vocalist Kim Song Sternkopf explores a deeper baritone range, delivering lyrics in both Danish and English, while Nicolai Busse’s guitar work elevates the emotional arc. Abstract artwork inspired by Emil Nolde and photography by Rolf Meldgaard visually reinforce the album’s exploration of dreams, reality and emotional reconciliation.
