Boris celebrates 20 years of Pink and dronevil with special reissues and North American tour

Boris marks 20 years of Pink and dronevil with special editions and a North American tour this fall.

Japanese experimental legends Boris are marking the 20th anniversary of their landmark albums Pink and dronevil with special editions set for release on October 17 via Relapse Records.

Pink, widely regarded as a turning point in the band’s career, returns for the first time in a decade as a 2xLP reissue featuring the original CD sequence and an exclusive D-side etching. A deluxe 6xLP box set will also be available, including the original vinyl version of Pink, expanded “forbidden tracks” from the sessions, never-before-released live recordings on vinyl, and previously unheard rough mixes.

Meanwhile, dronevil will be reintroduced after years out of print in a newly crafted 2xLP joint edition titled dronevil -example-. Originally designed as two separate albums—one of soaring ambient soundscapes, the other of ferocious rock energy—this version presents the concept in a simultaneous mix on vinyl for the first time.

To accompany the reissues, Boris will embark on a North American tour this October and November, performing Pink in full with the three-piece lineup from that era. The shows will revive the groundbreaking setlist that once boldly redrew the boundaries of heavy rock with vivid sonic textures.

With these reissues and their commemorative tour, Boris once again highlight the enduring influence of two albums that reshaped the sound of heavy and experimental music.
