Peter Murphy releases new single, 'The Artroom Wonder' featuring Justin Chancellor

Legendary Bauhaus singer Peter Murphy has released a new single called ‘The Artroom Wonder’, a track that alludes to his days in high school.

“Daniel Ash and I listened to the mysterious sixth-form intellectuals gathered in the art room. We dared to enter their conclave, and the music emanating from it was mesmerizing. We discovered the song playing was “The Bewlay Brothers,” highly intelligent, mystical, and sensual, with the singer’s voice as seductive as any I’d ever heard,” says Murphy.

Taken from his upcoming album ‘Silver Shade’ due out May 9th, ‘The Artroom Wonder’ features Tool’s Justin Chancellor on bass, one of many guest musicians on Murphy’s album which was recorded at Youth’s studio in Spain and is the second album the pair have worked on together since 2014’s Lion.

Following the release of "Swoon" in mid-February and last year's surprise duet with Boy George, "Let the Flowers Grow" (included on the album as a bonus track), "The Artroom Wonder" explores the transformative power of art and music, celebrating the beauty of creativity and how art and music can connect people, stir deep emotions, and reflect the human soul. It's about finding solace, joy, and inspiration in the creative process, whether it's a painting, a song, or any form of self-expression.
