“We have a bright future ahead of us”: Justin Chancellor, Tool

It took more than ten years for Tool, one of the most important bands on the progressive rock scene, to finally return to Mexico.

With three confirmed dates in the country, the band of Maynard James Keenan, Adam Jones, Danny Carey and Justin Chancellor, took advantage of their tour of Latin America - which will also take them to Colombia, Chile, Argentina and Brazil - to be able to play again in front of their Mexican fans, who had not had the opportunity to see the promotional tour of their most recent studio album, 'Fear Inoculum', released in 2019.

“It’s been a long time, ten years? I don’t know why it took us so long but I can only say that we’re just following our own steps,” says bassist Justin Chancellor, “We mostly go to the States, then to Europe and sometimes we get lost in Australia but we’ve never been to South America. We’re very excited.”

After much speculation, Justin confirms that after the Latin American tour, Tool will enter the recording studio to finish shaping his next studio album. “We have already shared with the others the ideas we have and when we return from the tour, we will spend three months in the studio to organize all those ideas. There are always many stages in our process. When we like something, we save it or record it but the most complicated process is when we have to decide what will go on the album…”
