Extreme metal pioneers SOULFLY have announced the release of their thirteenth studio album, CHAMA, due out on October 24, 2025 via Nuclear Blast Records. The record represents a return to the band’s spiritual roots while injecting contemporary vitality and raw aggression.
The single “Nihilist” stands out as one of the heaviest tracks on the album. Inspired by the late LG Petrov of Entombed/Nihilist, Max Cavalera pays homage to his influence while delivering a relentless sonic assault. The track also features Todd Jones of NAILS, whose searing contribution includes the unforgettable line: “I believe in nothing!”.
Directed by Costin Chioreanu and filmed in Bulgaria, the official video perfectly captures the track’s ferocity and dark energy, placing the band in a powerful visual setting.
Frontman Max Cavalera shared that the lyrics honor Petrov’s legacy, while the production highlights the growing influence of his son Zyon Cavalera, who continues to shape Soulfly’s modern sound.
Guitarist Mike De Leon added: “From the depths of the most remote tribes, we bring you the new Soulfly. This is my first official video with the band and it’s a complete honor. Crank it up and let the living room mosh pits begin!”.
With CHAMA, SOULFLY reinforce their enduring legacy, delivering tribal power and pure aggression that ensures their place as one of the most influential forces in contemporary extreme metal.
