Ozzfest will return to the United States in 2027. Organizers confirmed on September 21 that the festival founded by Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne will stage events in both the United States and the United Kingdom, where its comeback had already been announced for Villa Park in Birmingham.
The confirmation arrived through a short video posted on Ozzfest’s official social channels. It features Ozzy Osbourne, the Ozzfest logo and the US and UK flags alongside the message: “Ozzfest will come to the UK and US.” The post does not include dates, cities, a lineup or ticket information for the American edition.
The announcement marks Ozzfest’s first return to the United States since December 31, 2018, when a special New Year’s Eve edition was held at The Forum in Inglewood, California, headlined by Ozzy with Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Jonathan Davis and Body Count also on the bill. By then, the festival had already moved away from its regular touring format; its last full US touring edition took place in 2007.
The 2027 UK edition carries particular significance in Ozzfest history. Villa Park, home of Aston Villa in Birmingham, was confirmed as the venue in August. The stadium hosted Back to the Beginning on July 5, 2025, the concert where Ozzy gave his final performance and reunited onstage with Black Sabbath.
It will also be Ozzfest’s first comeback following Ozzy’s death, which came only weeks after that performance. Sharon Osbourne had explained earlier in 2026 that reviving the festival was something she had discussed directly with him and that they both believed Ozzfest could continue even without Ozzy performing. In January, Sharon also confirmed that she had been in discussions with Live Nation about bringing the event back.
Although no bands have been announced yet, Jack Osbourne said in August that the booking process was already underway. During an appearance on SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio, he described the return as a one-day event and said the team expected to reveal its main headliner and further details soon.
Jack explained that one of the challenges is building a lineup in a landscape where many major bands now run festivals of their own or have schedules and financial requirements very different from those during Ozzfest’s peak touring years. He also confirmed that the revived festival intends to retain a central part of the original concept: placing established names alongside younger artists.
That role became one of Ozzfest’s defining features during its touring years. Artists including Slipknot, System of a Down, Disturbed, Tool, Deftones, Slayer, Pantera, Lamb of God, Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson appeared across its history, while its secondary stages provided exposure for acts still building their audiences. Jack said the new edition will continue making room for emerging artists and could include at least one unsigned band.
Ozzfest began in 1996 and quickly grew from two initial shows in Arizona and California into one of the most important touring heavy metal festivals in the United States. It spent much of the following decade traveling across North America before later continuing through international editions and occasional standalone events.
