Pressive is a band formed in Guadalajara by Leonardo Ehrenstein, Charles Felix, Lorenzo Prats and Andres Prats. Their sound is defined by themselves as NüMetal with touches of Industrial.
Just a few months ago, Pressive released his EP, ‘Marionette’ -which you can find on iTunes- and they are planning the recording of their first full-length album. The band is part of the Line Up of Hell & Heaven Metal Fest 2014, in which they will share the stage with bands like Kiss, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Rob Zombie and several dozen others.
Pressive They are one of the most interesting national bands we have heard lately and are worth keeping track of. You can follow them through their official account Facebook.
How did you start the idea of forming Pressive?
I think that most of the bands have this in common, listening to our favorite bands from a young age learning to play the guitar, the drums dreaming of being a musician someday.
For people who barely know them, how would you define their sound?
I think you can expect something inclined to Nü Metal, obese riffs - that's what we like to call them - but with modern touches like synthesizers and more commercial voice melodies.
Is singing in English a way to open up to the market outside of Mexico?
We definitely hope that our music will be heard in many parts of the world someday.
Just a few months ago they released their EP ‘Marionette’, el cual suena bastante bien…
Well ‘Marionette’ It was the step we took as a band to start again on the scene, because Pressive had been in a “break” for more than a year. We appreciate the response it has had and hopefully it has moved something within each person who has heard it.
It shows that they invested him in a matter of quality, something that is appreciated. Is it something that all national bands should do?
We believe that in these times there are no excuses or excuses to achieve things, if your passion moves you you will learn to do something and you will do it with excellence over time, and we are proud to say that recording the album cost us $2900 - the price of the digital interface - and that is the result of years and years of work in the field.
The metal scene in Mexico has been scorned many times, what do you think about it?
In Mexico we have the best public that exists in the world, the difficult thing is to get your music to enter their phones, MP3s, etc., but when you do, you are on the other side.
Plans for an album in the future?
That's right, we are working on our new LP, and we invite you to be on the lookout, the best is definitely coming; D
Where do they intend to go with Pressive?
Pressive is a project that is being handled very seriously and we believe that it is the right way, as companies must have medium and short-term goals and objectives and always put forth the greatest effort, we hope this album will open many doors for us this year next, we'll see.
