Russian folk band Arkona have surprisingly released a new single called ‘Cectpa‘, which you can listen to below.
“The song ‘Cectpa’ (Sister) is a non-album single, spontaneously composed by Maria [Arkhipova] specifically for the student learning to sing with her,” the band says. “Conceptually, the song narrates the deep mental anguish of a person who is on the verge of falling into oblivion with the help of fire, which devours the exhausted body from within. Sestra is the anguish who acts as a twin sister, the personification of her own internal mental suffering, and the heroine of the song dialogues with her and ultimately says goodbye to her when death finally catches her in her arms.”
