The Pineapple Thief will release their sixteenth studio album, Far And Wide, on October 9, 2026, through InsideOut Music. The British band accompanied the announcement with “New World Order,” a forceful new single that introduces a more direct approach without abandoning the complexity, atmospheric character and progressive sensibility that have defined their career.
The official video for “New World Order” was created by longtime collaborator George Laycock through Black Tide Productions. The song opens a nine-track record and follows “Hold the Ashes,” a single released in June that will also appear on the album.
Far And Wide will be The Pineapple Thief’s first album for InsideOut Music and arrives two years after It Leads To This, released in February 2024. The new material extends some of the social and personal concerns explored on that record while placing them within songs shaped more closely around the energy the band have developed onstage.
Although Far And Wide retains the progressive architecture and immersive atmosphere associated with The Pineapple Thief, its creative process was guided by a specific decision: to record as a rock band and reduce the number of elements that could not be reproduced naturally in concert.
Bruce Soord, the group’s founder, vocalist and guitarist, explained that the musicians began questioning why their arrangements needed so many guitars or vocal harmonies.
“We realized, for instance, that you don’t need more than two guitar parts at any one time. Why have we got four or five guitars? Why have we got six-part harmonies when there are only three of us singing?” Soord said.
The band deliberately imposed those limitations to bring its live identity into the studio. Rather than constructing arrangements through an unrestricted accumulation of layers, the songs were designed around the interaction between the musicians and what they can perform in front of an audience.
That approach does not mean The Pineapple Thief have abandoned musical complexity. Instead, the group have directed their progressive instincts toward more incisive songs, balancing introspective passages and atmospheric developments with heavier moments. “New World Order” offers the first complete demonstration of this direction.

Far And Wide will be released across several physical and digital configurations. The most extensive version will be a limited artbook containing two CDs and a Blu-ray. The first disc will feature the album and the bonus track “Daylight,” while the second will contain instrumental versions.
The Blu-ray will offer Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD 5.1 Surround Sound and 24-bit/48 kHz stereo mixes. A special-edition CD digipak, a gatefold vinyl release available in several color variants and digital editions in stereo and Dolby Atmos will also be available.
Every format will feature an image of an abstract sculpture created by the late German artist Michael Schoenholtz, the father of Hannah, Gavin Harrison’s longtime partner.
