Beartooth has released the official music video for "Eyes Closed", the latest single from the band's upcoming studio album, Pure Ecstasy, which is scheduled for release on August 28 via Fearless Records.
Built around crushing riffs, soaring melodies, and cathartic screams, "Eyes Closed" explores the overwhelming feeling of watching life change faster than it can be understood. The song reflects themes of fear, uncertainty, and the determination to keep moving forward even when the future seems impossible to see.
The track was written from the ground up by Caleb Shomo alongside producer and songwriter Jordan Fish, whose résumé includes work with Bring Me The Horizon, Halsey, and Good Charlotte. Fish also contributed to the creative direction of Pure Ecstasy, bringing new textures to Beartooth's evolving sound.
Speaking about the song, Caleb Shomo said:
"There are so many fun riffs to play on 'Eyes Closed'. It felt incredible to scream it out and let go. The song was written from the ground up with Jordan, and the moment it was a demo, we knew we had something special."
"Eyes Closed" follows the previously released singles "Free", "Bullshit", and the album's title track, offering another glimpse into what Shomo describes as one of the band's most emotionally honest and musically ambitious releases. Written, recorded, and largely produced by Shomo himself, Pure Ecstasy continues Beartooth's tradition of blending massive hooks with aggressive instrumentation while expanding the band's creative boundaries.
The album arrives after the commercial breakthrough of The Surface (2023), which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Alternative Albums and Hard Music Albums charts while producing the chart-topping rock radio singles "Might Love Myself" and "I Was Alive".
Following the release of Pure Ecstasy, Beartooth will embark on a worldwide tour beginning September 17 in Europe before launching its North American run on November 11. The tour will feature Don Broco, Magnolia Park, and Windwaker as support acts.
With "Eyes Closed", Beartooth continues building anticipation for Pure Ecstasy, delivering another emotionally charged anthem that highlights Caleb Shomo's deeply personal songwriting while pushing the band's sound into new territory.
