Sleeping With Sirens continue building anticipation for their upcoming album with the release of “Paralyzed,” a new single that showcases one of the heaviest and most aggressive sides the band has explored in recent years.
The track arrives alongside an official visualizer and serves as another preview of “An Ending In Itself,” the band’s eighth studio album scheduled for release on June 12 through Rise Records.
From the opening seconds, “Paralyzed” makes it clear the band wanted to reconnect with some of the emotional intensity and heaviness that defined their early years. Crushing guitars, dark atmospheres and explosive melodic moments surround Kellin Quinn’s performance as he shifts between emotional melodies and far more aggressive vocal delivery.
According to Quinn, the song was heavily inspired by the bands that originally shaped Sleeping With Sirens during their early days inside the 2000s emo and post-hardcore scene.
“‘Paralyzed’ is one of the heaviest songs on the new record,” Quinn explained. “We had a blast making it and really leaned into the bands that shaped and inspired us growing up — artists like Thrice, The Used and Haste The Day. It’s aggressive, emotional, and captures a side of us we’ve always loved exploring.”
The upcoming album was produced by Will Yip, one of the most respected names in modern alternative music thanks to his work with bands such as Turnstile, Circa Survive and Movements.
Alongside the album announcement, the band also revealed special vinyl editions, signed inserts and a zine/CD package including behind-the-scenes photography and handwritten lyrics.
