Desde su formación en 2015 en Osaka, DEVILOOF Since forming in Osaka in 2015, DEVILOOF have gained international attention for combining the theatrical aesthetics of Japanese visual kei with overwhelming levels of sonic brutality. While many modern visual kei acts shifted toward more accessible alternative sounds, the band moved deeper into violent territory, incorporating blast beats, crushing breakdowns, guttural vocals and brutal death metal influences.
Con discos como Devil’s Proof, Oni and DAMNEDThrough releases such as Devil’s Proof, Oni and DAMNED, the group built a strong reputation outside Japan, especially among global deathcore and extreme metal audiences searching for a darker evolution of the visual kei movement.
The band’s visual identity has also become central to their appeal. Grotesque makeup, horror-inspired imagery and an intensely theatrical stage presence have helped DEVILOOF stand apart within an increasingly crowded global heavy music scene.
